Since their introduction Deep Blue boat rods have built a cult following amongst discerning boat anglers looking for the best money can buy. Make no mistake, these are no 'US style -stand-up’ or ‘-trolling’ rods.
The Deep Blue range was tested and triumphed, over a period of two years, to meet the exacting demands of UK boat anglers looking for perfection.
They also feature a ‘Ring-Lock’ system, whereby the Zirconium ring liners are locked in place and can never be knocked out. We also integrated the handle into one piece, so the spigot now sits at the top of the fore grip for a more pleasing appearance.
Finished in lustrous deep blue with subtle cross-whippings and decals plus the Fuji lightweight graphite reel seats and ALPS Titanium guides throughout, the Deep Blue Titanium range simply oozes class. Unlike most boat rods on the market, all rods of the Deep Blue range are accurately rated to IGFA line classes, so if we say it’s a 12lb class, it is. At 7ft 7in they offer the ideal length for the serious boat angler and include a model to suit all fishing situations.
10201 Deep Blue ‘Titanium’ 8lb class
An ultra-sensitive inshore rod, ideal for bass, plaice, brill etc. Teamed up with the smallest Accurate or Deep Blue reel, this is undoubtedly the best lightweight outfit available.
For the serious boat angler who predominantly fishes wrecks. It is a very powerful rod with lots of 'beef' and the only rod we use for our blue shark trips. More than enough power to haul monster Conger and Ling out of deep-water wrecks.
inspired by the original 'Livebait' range and based on the standard 8lb blank, but with an ultra-flexible tip, for supreme bite detection. With the ever-increasing trend of fishing lighter, this rod will find favour with plaice, turbot or bream anglers looking for the ultimate tip sensitivity, but with enough backbone through the blank, to handle the unexpected!
7ft 7in IGFA 8lb (4kg) Class - 'S-Flex' with Butt Cap
The standard 12lb class model, but with an ultra-soft Korean S-Glass tip section, for supreme sensitivity.
Based on rods we first developed for the USA SKA (Southern Kingfish Association) Tournament, where fishing livebait for kingfish, they can encounter fish up to 60lb plus, hitting the bait at up to 40mph! Something has to give and hence the soft-tip ‘Livebait’ model was developed. Re-badged as the 'S-flex' for 2017, a superb rod for livebait fishing for bass and other species, but equally suitable as a highly sensitive ‘bait-rod’ fishing for turbot, brill or black bream.
7ft 7in IGFA 12lb (6kg) Class - 'S-Flex' with Butt Cap
Since the launch of our Snowbee Skad lures in 2013, they have become one of the top selling lures for wreck or reef fishing for pollack, cod etc.
Our ‘Skad’ rod is designed specifically for this style fishing, using a boom and long flowing trace working Skads, shads or sand-eel lures over Channel wrecks for cod, pollack and coalfish. Based on our popular 20lb class model, but with the length increased to 8ft 3in.
8ft 3in IGFA 20lb (10kg) Class - 'Skad' with Gimbal
More and more sea anglers are now travelling further afield to take on the large tropical species, thus poses a problem - most boat rods are single or 2-pce, making travelling difficult and expensive. To solve this problem, we offer two travel versions of the Deep Blue rods. Both made with 4-pce blanks, and both packing down to a neat 29” to fit your luggage. Complete with a quality cotton drill rod bag and Cordura travel rod tube.
Although 4-pce blanks, we ensured that the action and power-curves of these two travel models matched that of the 2-piece models, precisely.
Available in 12-20lb class for light to mid-range species.
10207 7ft 7in IGFA 12-20lb (6-10kg) Class with Gimbal
30-50lbs for the ‘monsters of the deep!’ these rods have been subjected to a diverse range of species, tactics and applications world wide and successfully come through them all.
10208 7ft 7in IGFA 30-50lb (15-25kg) Class with Gimbal
A great range of mid-priced boat rods that exceeded their design brief to offer unbelievable performance for rods at this price. Used hard, for the past four years on all our sponsored charter boats around the coast, they have certainly stood the test of time.
The 7ft 6in blanks are the ideal length for the charter boat angler or inshore boat fisherman. Fitted with strong, but lightweight graphite reel seats and SiC lined rings throughout, the rings are well spaced to hold the line off the blank, even under maximum load. The blanks are finished in a lustrous deep blue with subtle self-colour whippings and cross whippings in red, gold and silver.
The high density foam grips offer all day comfort and warmth, for winter fishing and there is a gimbal fitting as standard on all models, with a foam cover. The rods come in a nylon rod bag, with mesh front to allow them to dry naturally, plus a hanging loop for easy storage.
The previous 3-pce Charter models have been replaced with the new 2-pce model retaining all the action and feel of the earlier models.

Following on from the Japanese ‘Speed Jigging’ craze, the new method of ‘Slow Jigging’ is proving far more popular and successful for our UK species.
The new Kuroshio ‘Black Tide’ Slow Jigging Rods are ultra-lightweight for all day fishing comfort but use high modulus carbon for a fast, powerful action, to impart maximum movement to the jigs. The graphite reel seat and lowrider style guides are equally at home using either a conventional multiplier reel or turn the rod up the other way and team it up with one of the new generation fixed spool Jigging reels.
At 6ft 6in they are the ideal length for Slow Jigging – long enough to ‘work’ the jig effectively, but short enough to apply pressure to set the hook, when the inevitable ‘smash takes’ occur.
Our new range includes 3 models; an ultra-lightweight jigging rod, rated for lines of 8-15lbs and jigs of 30-100g, a medium weight rod, rated for lines of 15-25lbs and jigs of 70-120g and a heavyweight model, rated for lines of 20-35lbs and jigs of 130-200g. These three models cover all requirements from ultra-lightweight, shallow water reef fishing, through jigging for bass on inshore wrecks, when they shoal-up in the autumn, to wreck fishing, in deeper water, where heavier jigs are needed, to get down fast.
The 2-pce blanks, break down at the handle to a convenient 58” for travelling and are finished in a lustrous black with subtle self-colour whippings and gold trim. The high density foam grips offer all day comfort and warmth, for winter fishing. The rods come in a nylon rod bag, with mesh front to allow them to dry naturally, plus a hanging loop for easy storage.
There is certainly more to slow jigging than meets the eye; do it wrong and you may as well use conventional methods, but do it right and it can, without doubt, be the most deadly, effective and exciting fishing method, for a vast array of species – pollack, cod, ling, whiting and even bass!
Aboard our own test vessel, Deep Blue³, for the past 8 years we have fished jigs almost to the exclusion of every other fishing method and proved time and time again, that it will out-fish most other methods, including long flowing traces with artificial sandeels or shads.
